Village Hill aka Courthouse Commons
A small country neighborhood with a great location!
Nestled in the historic courthouse area, Village Hill is a small neighborhood in the heart of Goochland County. This neighborhood has homes with prices ranging from the $300s to mid $400s.
With a variety of unique neighborhood features and several destinations within walking distance, Village Hill offers something for everyone. Most of the homes in this smaller, well-established neighborhood were built in the early to mid 2000s. Many of the homes in Village Hill are transitional-style homes—combining elements of both traditional and contemporary styles—ranging in size from 1,800–3,500 square feet. Homes are situated on lots between half to one acre and many have attached garages. A rare find, Village Hill is one of the few central Goochland neighborhoods with county water and sewer!
Comprising three cul-de-sac streets, and with its close proximity to the main street along the courthouse area (with access to sidewalks!), Village Hill is an ideal spot for morning walks and leisurely bike rides. If you’re looking for a more intense workout, walk on over to the Goochland Family YMCA, where you can go for a swim in the outdoor heated pool. It’s covered in the chilly months, so you swim year round! And after your workout, cross the street to check out a book from the Goochland Branch Library!
For scenic views and longer trails, Goochland has several well-maintained parks for you to enjoy. Tucker Park, located along the James River, has a one-mile trail, dog park, playground, and is a great fishing spot. Hidden Rock Park has beautiful nature trails, a playground, and is home to both youth baseball and softball leagues and adult athletic leagues. Leakes Mill Park features nine miles of trails that wind through the woods. It’s a great spot if you’re looking to get away from it all for a while. If you really want to get in touch with nature, go camping at Powhatan State Park. Less than fifteen minutes from Village Hill, this state park offers fishing and boating, picnic shelters, and multi-use trails.
If golf is your game, you’re less than thirty minutes away from three great spots! With its beautiful clubhouse, overnight cottages, and 18-hole course, Kinloch Golf Club is sure to please. The Richmond Country Club offers a golf course, tennis courts, swimming pool, and beautiful facilities for business meetings and special events. Patterson Golf Park is a family-operated gem that features PGA Pros, a driving range, and mini golf.
