January 26, 2021

  1. CALL TO ORDER
    1. Pat Pearsall call the Board meeting to order at 7:00 PM via Zoom
      1. A quorum was present.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS 

IV. TREE UPDATE

A. Quotes received for stump grinding on Newsome Ct. We will likely use Frank Duck from Affordable Tree Removal ($1500). Update: 2/12 Stumps have been ground. It has been learned that the boundary trees on Newsome were not on HOA property.  Pat will reach out to Earl (the landowner/developer) to get written permission to proceed.

B. Pat has been in contact with the extension office to find the best option for tree replacement.

NEW BUSINESS

V. LANDSCAPING/FRONT ENTRANCE

  1. Pat received quotes from competing landscape companies to see about lower the price. Competing companies were more than Corey. Corey wants to renegotiate the current contract. More information forthcoming.
  2. Mildew on the front entrance sign. Volunteers opted to clean en lieu of paying a company. (Kenny, Terry, Jesse, Jay, Chris)
  3. Boxwood out front has grown too tall and needs to be replaced.
  4. Lots for sale at the front of Earl’s Rd is currently listen as residential. If there is no interest, it will change to commercial.

VI. DUES

A. Make sure you drop your check off to Blaine. – Due March 1st.

VII. COVENANTS

  1. Covenants need to be changed and voted on. Do you have ideas on anything to change? 
  2. Current Suggestions for Consideration:
    1. No basketball hoops at the road
    2. Holiday decorations down by January 15th
    3. Allowing chickens (properly contained, amount limited, no rooster)
    4. No homes to be rented out
    5. Political signs down 14 days after election
    6. Trees not to be planted less than 75% of full maturity size unless approved by the neighbor the planting would affect
    7. Wetlands protection

VIII. ROAD PAVING

  1. VDOT will be repaving our roads this year 2021. When they are ready they will drive around and put a note in each mailbox with full details about what to expect.

IX. COMMITTEES

  1. Welcoming – Blaine & Elizabeth.  Social – Jessica S. & Kayleigh.  Architectural – Mary, Kenny, Terry

X. SLOW DOWN/DRIVING

  1. People are still speeding and driving recklessly. Walkers and children do not feel safe. We are looking into speed bumps to deter speeding. 

XI. NEIGHBORS

A. Reminder: The HOA meetings are for neighborhood issues, not issues with specific neighbors.  Those need to be brought to an officer and the officers will address the situation.

In Covenant Section VII it does state that no pet(s) are allowed to be a nuisance or annoyance.

Please keep your pet(s) out of other yards for bathroom purposes as a common courtesy to each of our neighbors.

For those of you with pets, thank you for your attention to this matter.

Enter your family’s favorite homemade broth or cream soup, chili or stew, into our contest. Drop off is at 3pm. Tasting and voting will be from 3:30-4:30pm.

Crackers and cornbread will be provided! Please bring drinks, chairs, blankets and toys.

Extension cords and tables will be setup for keeping the soups and stews warms.

INVITATION: HOA BBQ Block Party & Movie Night http://villagehillhoa.org/invitation-hoa-bbq-block-party-movie-night/ Thu, 09 May 2019 21:05:05 +0000 http://villagehillhoa.org/?p=407 Come join in the fun in the Earls Road cul-de-sac on June 1st at 5:00pm with dinner being served around 6:00pm. We’ll be having BBQ, hot dogs, and sides that will be provided by the HOA. Please bring a dessert to share and don’t forget your family’s favorite drink and a chair or blanket.

Children are free to bring bikes or other items to enjoy with friends with a grass area available for small children to explore.

Also, movie night around 8:15-8:30 (dusk) will be enjoyed on the hill in the Standley’s backyard. The movie will be voted on soon, but will appeal to the majority of the neighborhood. Please bring your favorite drink, a blanket or chair, and bug spray. Popcorn will be provided by the HOA.

The Fish Fry will be held in the Earl’s Road cul-de-sac and fried catfish, hot dogs and sides will be provided.  All you need to bring are your own beverages and chairs.  Also, if each family brings a dessert to share we’ll have lots of goodies to eat.

Please RSVP no later than Friday, October 5th.  We need a count to know how much food to order.

  • August 3, 2019
